Chiropractor Description:
Chiropractors treat patients whose health problems are associated with the body's muscular, nervous, and skeletal systems, especially the spine. Spinal or vertebral dysfunction alters many important body functions by affecting the nervous system, and skeletal imbalance can cause pain. Chiropractic Therapy employs manipulation and specific adjustment of body structures such as the spinal column to rebalance the nervous system and the body.
Chiropractors prevent and treat health problems by using spinal adjustments in order to correct misalignments. Chiropractic health care is based on the belief that the brain and nervous system control and coordinate all the body's functions in part through nerve branches that exit from the spinal cord between the vertebrae.
Spinal misalignments are said to interfere with the function of these nerve branches and cause subsequent problems in more distant parts or organ systems regulated by these nerves. Chiropractors manipulate and adjust the spine and skeletal system to rebalance the nervous system and allow the body to heal itself naturally. |
