Chelation Therapy options include either
IV chelation or oral chelation and involve the use of a chemical agent (EDTA)
that is administered either intravenously or orally and binds to heavy metals
in the blood. The toxic metals are then flushed out naturally through the kidneys.
Doctors also use natural chelating agents like zinc, garlic, vitamin C, and amino
acids. Chelation Therapy halts the bad effects of the toxins and initiates the
body's healing process, often reversing the damage.
Oral chelation, while
less expensive and more convenient, has all the benefits of IV chelation, but
is slower acting because a smaller percentage of the dose is absorbed (compared
with 100% of an IV dose).
Chelation Therapy has been used to treat atherosclerosis,
coronary artery disease, macular degeneration, toxicity and heavy metal poisoning
(like aluminum, lead or mercury), and autism. Check practitioner website for details
on which type they provide.
