Affirmations and decrees are often used as a creation exercise. With each of these creation dynamics it is important to use a positive statement in the present tense, and to believe in the success of the exercise.
An affirmation is a declaration of something that is true. Used as a creation exercise, one would declare something to be true even if presently it is not apparently so.
It is important to feel “as if” that which you are affirming is true while speaking your affirmation. This enhances the creation potential as all things manifest are directly related to how we think (our affirmation) and how we feel (the sensation we feel when speaking our affirmation).
Many systems suggest that when you want something different in your life, it is beneficial to declare that which you want repeatedly throughout the day. For example: “My body is fit, firm and youthful.”
It is better to be as specific as possible, speak it aloud, and say it three times in a row. These enhance the creative potential of an affirmation.
A decree is slightly different from an affirmation in that it begins with the words, “I am”. I like them better than affirmations because they feel stronger for me. There are several reasons why:
It is impossible to speak a decree outside of the present moment – a very powerful space within time from which to create; indeed, the only space to do so.
Decrees also are more clearly spoken. It’s difficult not to be specific with decrees. Using the example above, a decree would be, “I am fit, firm and youthful.”
Affirmations and decrees both send out an energy template, which then manifests into form (this is the actual creation process), but with decrees, the declaration of “I am” feels more definitive.
Last, and most importantly, the “I am” statement, what changes an affirmation to a decree, has within it a sound frequency that connects the heart chakra with the throat chakra. There is also a sub-frequency (listen for it as you speak your decrees) that also brings in the third eye chakra, the higher vision center.
Light – the frequency of love from the heart, and voice – the frequency of sound from the throat; now you are using the very frequencies from which all things are made of.
And with the sub-frequency that brings in your higher vision center, you are creating that which is for your highest and greatest good, and the highest and greatest good for others.
